Brass ball valve to control flow

Ball valves for plumbing

To control the flow in the pipeline a device called valve is used. A valve is used to shut off or control water, sewage, gas or slurries. It can be used to shut down to repair or even replace a part of the pipe whenever it is necessary. Number of valves can be seen at strategic points in any pipeline system be it for domestic purpose or for commercial buildings. There are many types of valves and they are classified on the basis on the type of connection it makes with the pipes. Most of the valves are made of brass or steel. A brass ball valve is used to control the water flow in the domestic supply. It is a conjugate pair consisting of condensed rings and a ball.

Brass ball valves have a great advantage as they are impervious so they do not allow moisture or temperature differences. The brass balls valves are of heavy duty and the full port design are available in sizes ranging from 3/8" to 2". They are found both in the thread and sweat type which can be soldered. It has a packing nut and a stem which is blow proof. The seat is of Teflon

Brass ball valve has a handle of stainless steel which can be turned by 1/4 turn to shut or let the flow in the pipe. The quality and the longevity along with performance are the main criteria to evaluate a product. A brass ball valve has to be leak proof to be effective as it is employed at some of the crucial places where it has to be absolutely leak proof. In a gamut of precision engineering products, used for plumbing purposes, it has to make a place for itself through performance.
