Latest technology in heat transfer plates

The heat transfer devices are the ones which are built to transfer the heat from one medium to another effectively. In this the heat medium is separated by a thick wall so that the direct contact cannot be maintained with each other. These are commonly used in large scale industrial process like refrigeration, petroleum refining, and air conditioning, natural gas processing & petrochemical plants. The conduction & convection principle of transferring heat is employed for designing and manufacturing the heat transfer plate.

In the heat transfer systems, the latest type of effective and compact model is plate type heat transfer. These plates have multiple thin plates which are slightly separated. These plates have large surface areas and fluid flows through it in order to transfer heat to the system. These stacked plates system is more effective than the tube and heat transfer.

As the advancement in brazing and gasket technology has taken place, it has made the plate type heat transfer practical. When these are used in HVAC applications, these large heat transfers are known as plate & frame. When these plates are used in the open loops then theses plates are of gasketed type as it allows the option to disassemble, clean and inspect. There are several varieties of permanent blonded heat plates like sip brazed & vacuum brazed plate. These plates are specified for closed loop uses like for refrigeration.

The types of plates used in heat transfers also vary and their configuration also differs. The heat transfer plates which are spaced closely have corrugations or troughs. These troughs induce turbulence to the liquid which flows in a thin stream between these plates.

The plates consist of corner plates which takes the complete form for distributing uniform fluid distribution to every individual plate panels. Parallel flow heat transfer offers an exclusive feature of interlocking the gaskets in upstanding scallops & lugs which are positioned intermittently around the outer edges. The seal is established between the plates with the peripheral gasket. This seal also separates through port and flow the areas with double barriers. The cross contamination is prevented as the interspaces are left in the atmosphere. The plate heat transfer has a stationery head, bottom guide rail and there is a carrying bar too which is there to give the end support. This is a form of a rigid frame which aids in supporting the plates and the moveable follower. The corrugations and troughs are closely spaced in the spaced metal heat transfer plate which stimulates the turbulence of liquid which flows through the thin streams between heat transfer plates.

If an efficient heating system is provided with heat transfer plates this would aid in providing quite heating at the lowest possible cost.
