Issues market PEX heat exchangers

On how to select equipment, and whether to wait for new products, we talk with the head of marketing Brazetek.

In the context of the relevance of the coming summer repairs, please tell us how to choose the heat exchanger? What to look for when buying it? What problems may arise when using plate heat exchangers?

To begin, I propose to define with the task you want to solve. Because the range of heat transfer equipment is very wide. If we are talking about enterprises of housing and communal services - this is one of equipment - usually collapsible plate heat exchangers for heating, hot water and ventilation systems of heating units and boilers. If we are talking about thermal power stations, here is a completely different working environment and, consequently, other equipment - usually welded heat exchangers, designed for operation on the critical temperatures and pressures? If we are talking about the technological processes in chemical, petrochemical and food industries, it applies to them a special heat transfer equipment, capable of working with specific and aggressive environments. But let's talk about everything in order, discuss the use of certain equipment in heating and thermal stations. Virtually every industry has been widely used collapsible plate heat exchangers. Of course, most often they are used in heating systems - heating, ventilation, air conditioning and ventilation.

The main advantages of collapsible plate heat exchangers - a compact and easy maintenance and repair. For a long time standard equipment, installed in these systems were shell and tube heat exchangers, which are very bulky, metal-intensive. Clean the tube shell and PEX tube heat exchanger - this is a whole technology that requires a lot of time and additional space. From gasketed heat exchangers all much easier! Cleaning the heat exchanger with disassembly takes very little time and can be executed as the enterprise's specialists and specialized customer service. And the Customer Service Company Brazetek "can put a reserve on the heat exchanger during cleaning core, so as not to interrupt the heat supply of consumers.

We are often asked how they work exchangers for "raw", ie poorly chemically purified water. Of course, the water of poor quality - is a big problem, especially if the heat supply system open. Scale becomes the cause of reduced efficiency of heat transfer and even equipment failure. The use of prefabricated heat exchanger in such systems is optimal because of the ease of cleaning! In addition to expensive water treatment systems, there are additional security equipment from scale. For example, we have a solution to this problem ? electromagnetic water treatment device, impeding the formation of scale. They are very well proven over the past 10 years of supply.

The compactness of plate heat exchangers in comparison with arches already legendary! They are more compact than shell & tube 3-5 times! I can cite an example from my own practice. At one of the sites we changed shell and tube heat exchangers to plate in two-story indoor thermal point prom.predpriyatiya. As a result of the modernization of the second floor of the room is fully freed from the equipment, and the company where he organized a gym for its employees!

We conducted an economic analysis of such modernization. I think the numbers speak for themselves - the cost of installing prefabricated plate heat exchangers, taking into account the cost of installation of 2 - 2.5 times lower than the cost of installation shell & tube heat exchangers.

The only limitation is collapsible plate heat exchangers - a maximum operating temperature (195-200 degrees) and pressure up to 25 bar. That is why their use in thermal power stations is limited. But even there they found their niche - for example, in the shops of chemical water treatment. But for steam turbines, whose temperature is much higher than 200 degrees, there is another type of heat exchangers - welded plate heat exchangers. In our company's series of welded heat exchangers is very wide - it exchangers 30-Plate Heat Exchanger (3/4" MNPT ports, 3" x 8"), 20-Plate Heat Exchanger, 1" MNPT ports, 4-1/4" x 12", 50-Plate Heat Exchanger, 1-1/4" MNPT ports, 5" x 12" (with Mounting Studs) and many others. They can operate at ultra-high pressures (up to 100 atmospheres) and temperatures (up to 950 degrees)!

As an example I can project to upgrade the CHP-8, which we are very proud. The project company Brazetek put 12 welded heat exchangers GEAShell, who worked as special-purpose network heaters on exhaust turbine F-50-130. A steam turbine comes with a welded plate heat exchanger, where the heating network water to consumers of thermal energy. The total consumption of heated water through heat exchangers 12 CHP-8 is 7200 t / h. To date, this is the only project in USA with a capacity plate heat exchangers. Is it possible to further improvement of plate heat exchangers? How often is there are novelties in this market?

Usually changes relate to the size of heat exchangers, for example, release of very large or small models. Also, improvements can touch plates: increasing the area of plates is optimized their profile, increasing efficiency. Such work is ongoing. Innovations in Heat Transfer
